I’ve been taking carpool to work for the last two weeks. I love it!

I used to take SMRT express bus to work every morning paying S$3.60 per trip. I would need to be at the bus stop before 7.55am to wait for that one single bus service. Missing it means standing all the way by bus and train or in the comfy bomb-costing cab. The last cab fare I paid for going to work in the morning was S$42! Regardless of the modes, (even if I managed to catch that bus) I will be late as I will reach office at around 8.50am. My boss has been very anal about us being in by 8.30am since the start of the year. The only way was to get out of my house at 7.25am and go by train. But I hate morning peak public transport, all the pushing and squeezing drives me nuts. Otherwise if its not the pushing and squeezing, the express bus aircon will freeze me to death though I get to sit down and snooze.

During a CNY gathering with some colleagues, I was lamenting about getting to work everyday and a colleague said there are a private school bus that gets to Shenton Way earlier. So I went to google it but instead of that, I found something better – carpool!

Now, I get on the car at 7.20am and reach office at 8.10am. Along the way, I listen to nice music, enjoy the comfortable aircon temperature and snooze all the way to work. I was late for a couple of minutes once but I know I won’t missed it. All for only S$4!
